Main churches – and of course Norman bloody Tebbit – against civil partnerships in religious premises (no surprise there, then)

I've just realised I've told the entire story in the headline. Never mind. Here's a link to a story on Digital Journal about it, with further links there.

It should come as no surprise to us, of course, that right-wing Tories – the ones who make the Nasty Party look positively benign – would oppose the idea. The Church of England does, although the Archbishop of York is guarded.

And as for Pope sodding Ratzinger . . . well, it goes without saying.

If we are going to have an established church, seems reasonable that the church should be required to provide their services to all citizens who want them.
